What Is Metal X?

Metal X is a one-stop DeFi platform built for both retail and institutional users. All trading and lending activity is settled on-chain with instant finality and zero gas fees on the XPR Network. The platform combines an order-book DEX with an automated market maker (AMM), liquidity pools, yield farms, and non-custodial lending—plus a multi-chain bridge, fiat on-ramp, OTC trading, and payment streaming. CLOB DEX: Central Limit Order Book Trading

Metal X runs a fully on-chain centralized limit order book (CLOB) DEX. Instead of relying only on AMM pools, you trade against a live order book: buy and sell orders are stored on-chain, with market depth and execution similar to a traditional exchange—but with self-custody and no gas fees.

• Order types: Market, limit, stop-loss, and take-profit orders.

• Zero fees on Bitcoin (XBTC): The XBTC/XMD pair has zero trading and transaction fees.

• On-chain referral: Earn up to 25% on referred trading activity.

AMM Swap: Instant Token Swaps

Metal X Swap is our automated market maker (AMM). It lets you swap XPR Network-based tokens instantly—no order book needed. You get a quoted rate, confirm the trade, and settlement is immediate with zero gas fees.

• Cross-chain compatibility: Trade wrapped assets (e.g. XBTC, XETH, XUSDT) and bridge assets from other chains (e.g. ETH → XETH) then swap.

• Slippage protection: The interface shows slippage warnings before you confirm.

• No gas: All swaps on the XPR Network have zero gas fees.

Swaps are powered by liquidity pools: when you trade, you interact with pooled liquidity and a small fee supports liquidity providers (LPs).

Liquidity Pools (LPs)

Liquidity pools are the backbone of Metal X Swap. By depositing equal value of two tokens into a pool (e.g. XPR and XUSDC), you become a liquidity provider and earn a share of the trading fees generated by that pool.

• Fee share: Each trade pays a 0.3% fee; 0.2% goes to LPs in proportion to your share of the pool. The remaining 0.1% can be used for protocol burn (e.g. XPR supply reduction).

• No lock-up: You can add or remove liquidity at any time.

• APR visibility: The Pools page shows estimated APR based on recent 24-hour volume so you can compare opportunities.

Deeper pools generally mean lower slippage for swappers. LPs take on impermanent loss risk when token prices move; fee income can offset that over time.

Yield Farming

Yield farming on Metal X adds extra rewards on top of LP fees. After you provide liquidity and receive LP tokens, you can stake those tokens in a farm. In return, you earn additional rewards (variable APY) from the farm's incentive program.

• Stake LP tokens: Connect your LP position to a farm; rewards accrue on-chain.

• Harvest anytime: Rewards can be harvested as often as every 0.5 seconds; no lock-up period.

• Variable APR: Farm APR depends on total staked amount and reward token price; it updates as the market changes.

Not every pool has a farm; the Farms page lists all active opportunities with APRs and your staked amounts.

Lending and Borrowing

Metal X Lending is a non-custodial, over-collateralized lending protocol. Lenders supply assets to markets and earn variable interest; borrowers post crypto collateral and borrow against it, paying interest to lenders.

• Lenders: Deposit supported assets (e.g. XRP, USDC, BTC, ETH) and earn variable APY.

• Borrowers: Collateralize with crypto and borrow up to a limit set by each market's collateral factor (often around 70%). Use loans for trading, expenses, or leverage.

• Rates: Borrow rates move with utilization (how much of the pool is borrowed). Higher utilization typically means higher rates to attract more supply and balance the market.

• Loan health: A loan health indicator (and liquidation threshold) shows how close your position is to liquidation. Keeping health above 0% and repaying or adding collateral reduces liquidation risk.

Liquidations protect lenders: if a borrower's collateral value falls too far, liquidators can repay the debt and receive collateral at a discount (e.g. 10% bonus).

Multi-Chain Bridge

Move assets from other chains onto the XPR Network so you can use them on Metal X. The bridge supports major networks and assets (e.g. XRP, BTC, ETH, SOL). Once bridged, you benefit from zero-gas transfers and full access to Metal X's DEX, swap, pools, farms, and lending.

Fiat On-Ramp

Buy crypto with a debit or credit card directly into your Metal X–connected wallet. Available in the US, New Zealand, and Australia. The on-ramp aims for no hidden spread and low card processing fees, with funds settling on-chain so you can trade or supply liquidity immediately.

OTC Trading

For large or custom-sized trades, Metal X offers over-the-counter (OTC) trading. You agree on price and terms with a counterparty; execution is enforced by smart contracts. This can reduce market impact and allow flexible settlement timing.

Payment Streaming

Send recurring or streaming payments via smart contracts. You set the amount and interval (e.g. per minute, hour, day, or week), and the contract releases funds over time. Streams can be ended early, giving payers and payees predictable, on-chain payment flows.

Gift Cards

Create crypto gift cards for others: they receive instructions to download WebAuth, create an XPR Network account, and claim the gifted amount. A simple way to onboard friends or family to Metal X and the XPR Network.
